Hello! My name is Melissa and I am the founder of Home Grown Families!

I am the proud mother to 4 beautiful children, with hopes for many more. We are praying about this are every day, praying that God will grow a baby in our hearts through adoption. I started this blog to document our journey through life with these little sprouts!

My husband and I decided long ago that we did not want to miss any part of our childrens lives, and always wanted to parent in a natural loving manner. This decision has meant that our bed is full of 4 wiggly children, and that I always have a baby attached to me in some form but we wouldn't change it for anything.

This is my husband, and the leader of the pack.

I feel so incredibly blessed to have a husband that supports our family spiritually and emotionally.

Fast Eddy is our oldest, and is in second grade this year. He has to be the coolest kid I know. He can be found break dancing anytime there is a beat, picking out "fresh" shoes, bouncing off the walls, cuddling with his mama, working with his Daddy, begging for dreadlocks, and building lego masterpieces! He has made me into the woman I am today, and I am ever so grateful to have him in my life.

Carrot Top, is the middle child. The sweet and quiet one. The one who loves to read books, listen to classical music in HIS bed, swim in the pool, dance like his brother, stay up really late, and just hang out with his family. He simply loves to be around people- he LOVES bring a brother! We prayed very hard for Carrot Top, as his pregnancy came after 2 miscarriages. He was the perfect addition to our family!

Answered prayers didn't stop with just one baby............. the blessings were overflowing. " For this child we prayed, and God granted our requests" 1 Samuel 1:27

Our third little blessing LIL, was born unexpectedly at just 26 weeks. Even when there were times we weren't sure if she would make it, our little girl fought on. We prayed without ceasing for a full recovery and healing of her immature body. After a long journey in the NICU, we finally brought our little one home to be with her family. Despite having some medical problems associated with extreme prematurity, she is thriving and is such a beautiful and happy baby!

She loves to move around, stay permanently attached to her mommy, and play rough with her brothers! God knew it would take one strong little girl to keep up with these boys! She is 2 yrs old now, and although it was the most difficult thing we have ever gone through we would go through it all again in a heartbeat! She has mommy by the heart strings, and bad!

Our newest and last beautiful child is Rys. Born November 17th, she is just perfect and truly a good baby. You can read our life changing birth story here.

Despite having had to close the doors to a HUGE chapter in my life, and I am keeping my head up and looking forward to the future. Praying God will bless us with a child not born in my uterus but in my heart through adoption.

So, that is my family! Thank you for stopping by, and I hope that you feel inspired by our blog.

You can catch some of my FAV posts here, along with a little more about my family.
