Northern Essence Review and Giveaway

Remember that adorable wool diaper cover I reviewed(and giving away!), I posted in there about needing to wash your wool covers with wool wash when soiled. This wool bar is made for washing your wool! A Northern Essence exclusive, the wool wash bar is easy to use and all natural! Simply wet wool and soap, rub on and rinse out! Lay flat when done ringing out your wool diaper cover! This 3.5 oz wool wash bar can be ordered unscented or scented with fragrance or essential oils. Each bar has lanolin in it, and is perfect to wash your wool covers in-between lanolizing times. Made the old fashioned way, this bar will last 4 times longer than liquid wool wash. One bar costs $5.50.

Prefer liquid wool wash? Northern Essence makes their very own liquid wool wash made from natural vegetables glycerin soap, pure lanolin and organic oils. This wash is gentle enough to wash any of your delicate woolens, and will not strip out the lanolin on the wool. There is no need to scrub your wool with this soap, just drop a few drops in a sink full of warm water and throw in your wool! Your wool covers will be washed, slightly lanolized, and fresh! Available in TONS of scents and sizes! I have been using the wool wash bar for heavy soiling, and the liquid wash for my stinky wool. Although, you could just use one wool wash for all your wool care needs, I definitely love having both!

Cover the Booty with goodness! Northern Essence all natural diaper rash salve has been a best seller for years! Made with Calendula, Meadowfoam, Beeswax, Cocoa and Shea butters, and beneficial oils(available without TTO and Lavender for sensitive skin) it nothing but natural on your baby. The diaper salve contains no lanolin, petroleum, or zinc! I absolutely love the natural citrus scent and the best part......................it is perfectly safe for cloth diapers! This salve will not ruin your precious diapers!! You can pick up the diaper rash salve in a push up tube or in a tub. I have always hated using diaper rash creams because of the sticky mess, but this salve goes on smooth and does not get everywhere! Northern Essence diaper rash salve costs $3.95-$6.95 depending on size.

While your there changing the diaper, use a Northern Essence organic wipe! These extra large 8.5x8.5 wipes, are 2 sided with hemp and organic fleece. Perfect for diaper changes, face wipes, or family cloth(choose one or the other)! I have reached for this wipe every time the baby has a messy one! It grabs it all, with only one wipe!! Less to wash and less disposable wipes to use! Each wipe costs $1.50, or you buy a 6 pack for $8.50.


Northern Essence also carries Maggies Soap nuts! While it is not made my them, I have been wanting to try out this all natural grown on trees soap forever! Soap nuts are made from the Chinese Soapberry tree, and the berries( no nuts involved-perfectly safe for people with nut allergies) contain Saponin which has been used for thousands of years as a cleaner. Maggies Soap Nuts are available in the "nut" form or in a liquid form like we tried out. The liquid soap contains lots of essential oils known for their antimicrobial properties, but after washing all you will smell is that natural soap nut smell! Soap nuts can be used on any fabric and in any machine! The liquid is super concentrated so just a tiny bit is needed to wash a full load! How green is that!

Did I mention Soap nuts are great for cloth diapers??? Yup, this low sudzing soap is perfect for cloth diapers! I tried Maggies out on both my laundry and my diapers and both came out cleaner than than do with a chemical bath. You can pick up Maggies Soap nuts in various sizes- prices vary.
