Pure Play Kids Review & Giveaway

I was so excited when Tania~ one of the owners of Pure Play Kids~ contacted us about doing a review!  As I browsed through their site, the list of things I was "willing" to do a review on grew and grew... and grew some more.  On my list was:

Needless to say, this was not my whole list...  But, what I ended up choosing was the Natural Lip Balm Kit

Fun to make and safe to use – this is a wonderful “science” kit for kids of all ages. No dyes, synthetics, additives or fillers; what’s not to love making your own natural lip balm in 30 minutes or less! The all-natural do-it-yourself kit is a great way to teach kids at an early age about making healthy choices for their skin. I had back surgery 2 weeks ago so some families from church have been taking the kids for a few days so I can rest.  Believe it or not, the Natural Lip Balm kit came in handy!

The twins had so much fun making the balms!  I did the microwave work so they wouldn't hurt themselves but they did the rest.  After melting the wax into the oil and shea butter, 

you add essential oils (and food coloring if you like) stir and pour!  Our kit came with orange and peppermint oils and instead of mixing them, we did 2 separate batches.

 The end result for us was 4 peppermint balms and 4 oranges balms.
 (FYI: gel food coloring doesn't dissolve~ use liquid)

So, back to the back surgery/Pure Play Kids connection... the girls took these as a 'gift' to the girls of the families that spent time with them these last few weeks.  It was a huge hit!  

Think how awesome these would be as party favors, Christmas gifts for Sunday School, etc!  It would be a great activity at kids parties and would be a great Science project!  You can add glitter, coloring, different essential oils~ whatever~ to totally switch up the outcome!  These would be GREAT gifts for your adult friends, too.  You could 'adult' them up a bit in glass containers or by adding some ribbon.

I love the soy crayons, too!  The colors are so bright and the shape of the crayons are perfect for little hands!  The twins have fine motor skill 'issues' so they get as much use out of them as Mugsy does.  Definitely worth paying a little bit more then that other brand.
