Back to school time is difficult for homeschoolers. We have so much to get ready that others don't necessarily have to do. From researching and shopping for curriculum to filing our papers with the state, we can be pretty busy at back to school time!Now, there is a new program that can make everything just a bit easier for us! AboutOne is a website that keeps all of our information about everything in one place! No more wondering how to get organized~ AboutOne takes care of it for us!
Browsing around AboutOne, you easily see that it is capable of being your house manager! You start by entering your name and completing your profile. You can enter your birthdate, birth details, name meaning, the hospital at which you were born, etc! As you know, I have twins and I am always saying "Which one..." or "One of them..." This would have been great to have to record all the details of their birth!
After you do this for each family member {don't forget the animals!}, your dashboard looks like this:
You can hover over the icon for a family member and a list comes up:
- add Health
- add a School
- add a Memory
- add a Vehicle
- add a Home
- add a Possession
Add Health covers all these areas:
Once that is done, you can print up a Babysitter instructions, Health History or a Caregiver report that lists all relevant medical information! What a great tool!
My girls are in several therapies and see many different Dr's for tests and evaluations. Now that back to school time is here, I find myself searching my filing system {read: piles} for all the different reports I need to submit to their cyber school. There are so many of them, I get confused to which reports are relevant! Sure, there's a date on them, but I can't remember if there's a follow up report that is more relevant!! I can't keep track! If I had been using this system from the beginning, I would be able to see overviews of all reports in chronological order so I was sure I was submitting the correct information.
