Pink Princess~ Review and Giveaway

Friday, September 30, 2011

My girls are girly girls through and through; every which way to Sunday.  Especially, The Princess.  She takes being a Princess to a whole new level.

Do you know how hard it is to raise a Princess?  It takes a lot of effort~ hair, nails and clothes.  As much effort as it takes to raise a Princess, it takes 2X as much money to clothe a Princess.

I am always looking for a deal~ beautiful dresses fit for royalty with price tags fit for reality.

Pink Princess is that place!!  Beautiful dresses to please even the most discerning tastes with prices for the commoner.
Our company has been in the children’s clothing business for over three decades, spanning the entire spectrum of kids’ apparel, from casual play wear to black tie formal wear. In the early nineties, in response to very high customer demand for formal wear, we shifted our focus to the special occasions market. A decade later, we are now an industry leader in both girl dresses and boy’s formal wear, with flower girl and pageant dresses amongst our biggest sellers. Naturally, with the establishment of Web commerce, we took our business online, where we now share our beautiful little girl dresses and little boy suits with the entire world.

After reviewing every. single. dress. on the website, The Princess eventually chose the Pink Flower Girl Dress - Flower Embroidered Organza

It is absolutely gorgeous!!  The designs on the bottom on the dress are embroidered~ making the dress look much more expensive then it it really is.

She had the chance to wear this to a wedding recently and she was the best dressed little girl there.  Such elegance for such a great price!

Pink Princess has a ton of flower girls dresses besides the one we received.  And, they carry so much more then Wedding items!

They also have tons of Holiday Dresses!  I love this one!!

You can also choose summer dresses~ casual elegance!

Halloween is right around the corner.  Make sure you check out Pink Princess for these and other great Halloween costume options.

Energizer~ emergency preparedness & a GIVEAWAY!

This storm season has been scary already!  There have been a few big storms make landfall in the tropics and while Texas has been praying for rain for months, the North East has had flooding not seen in 30 years.

Then, there was that one night that {supposedly} a car ran into a pole and took out the electricity in my WHOLE BOROUGH!  We spent 8 hours that night without light!  Since it was hot, we spent most of that night on the porch with candles.

While candles are OK, we all know that the risk of fire is great when we use them.  Imagine, a whole house lit by candles during a power outage.  Of course, the windows will be open to offer a breeze...  just one gust and the curtain flickers onto the flame...  It's happened many times!

The last year we lived in Florida, we had 5 direct or close to direct hits.  We would barely clean up from one before we had another.  Since we were on the same grid as a convalesce home, we usually had our power restored within a day or two.  However, one time, we were without power for almost a week.  A whole week!

And, just recently, our area here in PA along the Susquehanna River experienced severe flooding.  Check out this video with pictures of the damage:

Fortunately, where I live was OK.  There were people in my church, however, that lost their homes.  One was swept right off it's foundation!

Fresh Wave Baby Review and Giveaway $50+ RV

I hate a stinky house.....a stinky car....or ahhh a stinky nursery. But I hate chemical air fresheners even more, so for the past 6 years with 3 stinky children I have sucked it up and dealt with it. I would never compromise their health for my comfort and with that Fresh Wave is here to help!

Fresh Wave products combat tough odors without the use of toxic chemicals!  No worries about using CFC sprays, or about kids inhaling your toxic good smelling fumes.

Tired of heavily perfumed deodorizers that merely mask foul smells? Fresh Wave is the cure for the common, chemical air freshener. Unscented Fresh Wave® was created to eliminate odors…naturally. Fresh Wave Sprays, Crystal Gels, Candles, Vacuum Pearls, Carpet Shake and Pearl Packs all use the power of nature for safe, non-toxic odor elimination without the use of perfumes or fragrances. Simple, natural, ingredients like Lime, Pine Needles, Aniseed Clove, Cedarwood and Water.

As a cloth diapering mama(and those with any kind of problems), one HUGE problem I have is a stinky nursery! As much as a try to keep the diapers rinsed well and the diaper pail closed- they still stink. Fresh Waves line of baby odor eliminating products are amazing! Their pine and cedar ingredients bring a earthy smell to the room- as natural as the diapers I am trying to cover up.

The Natural Odor eliminating Crystals come in 2 forms: A 16 oz crystal gel container and in pearl packs

HotWheels- Keeping an Organized Playroom

As a mom with 3 little ones, I simply can not be picking all these toys up! I like things neat and organized and have set for high expectations on my kids for keeping their toys neat and organized. Obviously, I wouldn't do this without laying a good system for them to keep it all together. Here are my tips for keeping a clean playroom with lots of little ones!

1- Have a place for EVERYTHING! If everything has a place the kids will know where that toy belongs. I can confidently say to them "You know where that goes". Consistency is always the answer.

2- Use colored bins or baskets to keep same type items together. Label bins with pictures or words so kids can easily put things away. In tight quarters bins save a lot of space!

3- Keep games up high!! Board games are the biggest culprit in messy playspaces with all their pieces. Keep the pieces in baggies in the box and keep them high on shelves. My kids know that they have to ask first to get one, and only mommy can reach :)

4- Keep bins in each room with small toys so toys don't get dragged from room to room. I rotate the toys out in nicely decor matching baskets, so the kids don't get bored. I fill the basket with room appropriate toys, like quiet toys in the formal living room.

5- We no longer have a toy room, so toys are spread out among the different rooms. We have utilized a toy closet and in order to use the space efficiently we have used all sorts of shelving! Be creative! From shoe racks to crate bins, if everything has a place than it is easier to put away.

6- Keep toys with lots of small pieces in zip lock baggies. I place all of these toys in stackable crates, so nothing gets lost.  I also keep a Montessori rug in their for the kids to sit on with these toys in bags. All the pieces are to stay on that rug when they are playing. Label, label, label! I hate lost pieces.

7-  Label the back of puzzles with numbers are shapes, so pieces can be easily identified. The kids can match up the pieces to what set it belongs too. All placed in zip lock baggies in the box of course. Slight OCD I know.

8- Have a shelf designated to rotating toys that you want them to play with. If you want them to reach for a puzzle over a talking toy, put it first in their line of vision. I keep our shelves new and fresh and it helps!

9- Utilize under the beds, train tables, closet etc with sliding bins. Out of sight, and easy to get too!

10- PRAISE THEM!! Praise them for their hard work and they will keep doing it. Remind them how great it is to know where to find that favorite toy. Maybe if your lucky they will have your same tendencies to keep a clean home.

I hope some of these tips help you! I would love to hear yours! Let me know any in the comments below!

Hot Wheels has a great a new system called WallTracks to keep all those cars and tracks off the floor!  Be sure to check it out for Christmas!

Mixbook~ Christmas Cards Review and Special Offer~ HURRY!

I found a great place to get Christmas cards this year: Mixbook!  Mixbook is an online photo site that allows you to make photo books, cards and calendars with their free design software!
With Mixbook, you aren’t limited to static pre-designed templates – our powerful design software gives you the freedom to lay out and design your creations to your heart’s content.

You can upload pictures from just about anywhere, too!  I LOVE that you're not limited to what you can upload from your own computer~ sometimes, others take really great pictures that you would love to use!

And, it is so easy!

Mixbook really sets themselves apart with their extra features!  Did you know you can invite others to add pics and collaborate with them on making the perfect book?  They have a blog with some really great ideas on saving school projects the little ones bring home.  They also have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee!

I chose Christmas cards to review because I always have a hard time choosing cards that are appropriate for us.  We celebrate "Christmas" and it gets harder every year to find religious themed cards!  Mixbook has a great selection!

It is as easy to make the cards as it is to make the books!  The easy uploader means you just drag and drop!

I didn't have any good family pics so I made the twins cards to give out to their friends.

Did I mention that they are double sided?  YES!!!  Double sided!!

But, don't think that they are unaffordable~ they're currently only $.44 per card.  You can get 30 front and back, 100% personalized cards and envelopes for less then $13!  I couldn't believe it!!  You better bet that as soon as I get some decent pics, I am ordering the family cards from Mixbook!

You can, too!!  And, if you hurry, you can get additional discounts!

Make sure you check out Mixbook for all your photo cards needs!  And follow them on Twitter at @Mixbook and on Facebook as Mixbook.
