When my twins were toddlers, almost a decade ago, I had never heard of balance bikes.  It wasn’t until last year that Melissa introduced them to me and I think they’re the coolest things ever!

Since the baby is finally old enough to have one, I was so excited to receive one to review from Prince Lionheart~ and I love it!

Prince Lionheart was a company started by parents in the garage of their parents with hand cut, hand decorated rocking horses.  Even though they’re now a state of the art company in CA, their core values remain the same: quality, innovation and outstanding service.

And I can see that in the Whirl Balance Scooter I received.  The wood is Birch, high quality and nicely finished.  The tires are real, the paint is pretty and it’s a solid scooter for my very rough 3 year old and her equally as rough older sisters.
Prince Lionheart’s whirl balance SCOOTER™ will teach your child how to balance – a crucial skill necessary before transitioning to a two-wheeled pedal bicycle.
Since this scooter holds up to 70 lbs, you don’t need to worry about your chubby toddler out growing it too soon.  My 9 year olds still meet the weight limit!

Assembly was relatively easy, too.  It came assembled except for the front wheel and the handle bars.  One thing that I found odd, was that the screw for the front wheel was assembled in the frame so it wouldn’t get lost, I assume.  So, you had to un-screw it, put the wheel in and screw it again~ not a big deal if they hadn’t already put blue Lock-Tite on it.  So, unscrewing it was hard and it stripped the bolt.  My Dad was able to fix it but it made it pretty difficult.  When I contacted their customer service, they very quickly sent me 2 new screws and bolts with their apologies.  Odd but quickly fixed.

Other than that, there is nothing bad I can say about this product!  My kids love it, I love it, it will last a long time.  It is great!  I recommend this 100%!

  1. The link for the newsletter doesnt give a place to find in, broken.

  2. This sounds so great! I love that it teaches children to balance, which isn’t something training wheels can do. And I love that it has such a high weight limit! My husband will appreciate its easy assembly, too.

  3. this is really great i love it helps with balance would love to win one for my kids

  4. These are the cutest things I wish they had been around for my kids but my daycare babies would love them and some day my grandkids :)

  5. I love this and just know Baby Girl would love it :-)

  6. THis would be perfect for my 4 yr old that is learning to ride a bike. I think it is a lot safer too.

  7. This would be wonderful for both of my kids!

  8. We have a WheelyBug that has gotten the most use out of any toy!

  9. My 9-year-old still uses his training wheels, and really prefers to not ride his bike much. He’s a bit of a perfectionist, so if he can’t do something right the first time, he won’t keep trying. I would love for him to have a bike like this. I have two younger boys as well, so the bike would get used a lot!

  10. I also like the Wheely Bug
