I received these products for free in return for an honest review. Following is my opinion...
There are several things in life that 'just happen.' We don't always know why or how, but we're still left to work through it to the best of our ability.
For me, one of those things has been surgery. In 2010 I hurt my back somehow. There is no one thing that happened~ no car accident or obvious injury, but nonetheless, it changed my life. Since then, I have been either laid up, in extreme pain or recovering from surgery. I have had 2 back surgeries in 2 years and haven't been out of pain since 2010.
When this last surgery came up, I was determined to be more proactive about it. I found a new doctor, had my surgery at a new hospital, insisted on Physical Therapy after recovery, allowed myself to take pain medicine for some relief, and decided that this was going to be my last surgery.
And, I went shopping.
I knew I was going to be in the hospital for several days after my invasive procedure and I wanted to make sure I looked as good as possible. My research brought me to Silver Moon Bay.
Silver Moon Bay is the work of Annie Cholakain, an LA based fashion designer. She had conversations with friends talking about the lack of comfortable and stylish hospital wear while in the hospital and during home recovery. Annie's products are different because they're made of super soft jersey fabric instead of that horrible broadcloth!
I love the designs on these gowns! They're 3 of my favorites. I love that you don't have to look bad while you feel bad in the hospital or while receiving visitors at home.
The snapping sleeve openings make it possible to wear these gowns while you have an IV. I changed into this gown while my IV was still hooked up and had no problems!
Pretty pink, soft jersey 3/4 sleeve patient gown with gathered ruching detail around the neckline. The back wraps over and snaps at the neckline so that when the patient stands up, the back stays closed.. The double back snap offers easy access for care givers. (Meets hospital requirement for back opening IV gown)The rouching is so precious~ subtle but just enough for a little personality. One thing I love about this gown was the way it closed. See in the above photo that there is an overlap? This helps the back stay closed when you are up and around.
The Physical Therapist that came to my room loved it and complimented me on it every day! I may have stunk, been dirty and had greasy hair, but I looked cute in my soft pink gown!
Besides helping in the hospital, Silver Moon Bay's gowns are great for recovering at home. The back is easy to splay open at bedtime so you don't get your gown bunched up around an incision. One problem I had during recovery was bending over to push down/pull up pants. If it's really that hard {trust me, it was!} the gowns back openings make it easy to sit, wipe and go.
Pregnant and nursing mothers can also benefit form these gowns! The snap sides can easily be opened to nurse.
Another absolutely brilliant product Silver Moon Bay carries is a Bed Jacket. The Bed Jacket is a cape that can be thrown over your gown for warmth and privacy. It is so brilliant!! Hospitals are COLD!! They do this to keep germs at bay, but it makes the patients experience uncomfortable. When you're laying in bed for most of the day, you don't want to wear a robe. It gets tangled up, you sit on it which prohibits movement, and it's hard to remove if you get a hot flash. THe Bed Cape is everything a robe is not~ it's the perfect alternative! I also LOVE that it works after you leave the hospital for cold winter months!
Also, busty women know how annoying it is to receive visitors and even doctors {they always seem to send the young, handsome PA in their absence, don't they?} when they're not wearing a bra or other supportive undergarments. I always feel like "I'm swaying in the breeze." The bed cape is great to have on hand to quickly cover your chest.
I just throw it on over my shoulders and feel better instantly!! This would also be perfect for a nursing mother as she wouldn't have to remove it to nurse! I am going to have this cape forever and it will definitely be a staple in my hospital bag!
If you're looking for great products for your next hospital stay, make sure you check out Silver Moon Bay!

So sorry you've been going through so much pain - sounds much like my mom and sister - each get epidural shots often for back pain -
Love the gowns - I will forward your post to them.
