Minecraft is by far the most popular video game on the market right now! From castles to spaceships……the options are endless. My boys go to bed talking about Minecraft and wake up talking about Minecraft! So in order to achieve the “Best Mom” award from by soon to be 9 year old, I had to master the PERFECT Minecraft birthday party complete WITH ALL OF THE ELEMENTS!!
Thankfully, the elements are easy and an unbelieveable Minecraft party is within the reach of any DIY Mom.
So, Home Grown Families has partnered with Birthday Express to highlight a great DIY Minecraft Birthday Party!! All of our party tableware came from Birthday Express- by mixing and matching solid color tableware we were able to have a unique table setting! To get your party started off right, start with Dark green, lime green, and brown plates, napkins, and cups! Birthday Express has a wide selection of solid color party supplies, including a $20 deal for a 24 setting party pack!
We also shopped Birthday Express for extras like these green striped paper straws for our Minecraft Brewing Station!
A quick Google search of Minecraft brewing charts and some resizing was all it took to create our station! I just used different colored sodas for their brews! This was by far their FAVORITE thing at the party! And that awesome astroturf table runner only cost me $5 for 2 tables!
We also had Lava punch for the grown ups that wanted to skip the multi-colored drinks 🙂 * It was just strawberry soda and orange sherbet ice cream.
For our Minecraft party…..we skipped real food. Yup. All sugar. I warned the parents in advance that I was not to be held responsible for bad behavior if you come to a Minecraft birthday party KNOWING I was only offering sugar. Yup said it. We wanted all the elements and SUGAR just made sense! I bring you the MOTHERLOAD of Minecraft party sweets!
Minecraft torches made from pretzel sticks dipped in frosting and then covered in red sprinkles. Easy Peasy! I was a little intimidated by all the amazing Minecraft parties on Pinterest- so I made sure to make this party easy and completely doable by a busy non-creative Mom like myself.
Swedish Fish for Minecraft Fish, Gold candy for Minecraft Gold, and Red Sixlets from Birthday Express for Minecraft Red Stone!
And since not all Moms are Betty Crocker Pinterest Worthy bakers…….I present Minecraft Grass Blocks with box cupcake mix, dyed frosting, and sprinkles. The kids did not care that they weren’t Pinterest inspiring cupcakes 🙂
Minecraft cookies…….straight from the box 🙂 The food labels came from this awesome Minecraft party free printable, and and the rest came from the ” prt sc” and paste feature of all computers ( I used the ones above but edited in paint to make the ones they didn’t have).
Emeralds and Diamonds from Birthday Express Rock Candy! I had solid green goodie bags for the kids to take their treats home in. If I had the time, I was going to paint Kreeper faces on the bags but you know that didn’t happen 🙂
Sand Blocks from Rice Krispie treats!
My Minecraft Twizzler TNT bunches were a hit! My husband and I painted little strips of paper to hold the red and black licorice sticks together!
Oreo Truffles for charcoal……….by far the best charcoal I have ever eaten! Stay tuned this week for a super quick recipe!
Since we had sooooo many sweets, we only made a “cake” for a centerpiece and to continue the elements! We topped our cake centerpiece with these Minecraft Papercraft Animal Mobs Set.
And finally…….my birthday boy. Who loved his birthday sooooo much which made all the 3 am nights completely worth it. I love you, my big 9 yr old.
I have tons of files for the food cards saved to my computer, but since I can’t remember where I got them I can not post a link for you. If you happen to see them, email me so I can link up!
