As we get closer to Summer, every Mom is wondering what they are going to do with their kids this Summer. Every parenting magazine has pages and pages FULL of Summer camp options like swim camp, painting camp, theater camp, gymnastics camp or many others! It’s all about finding the camp that fits your child’s needs. I tend to lean on camps that get them moving and outside- it is beautiful Florida after all!
My son loves to move- matter of fact- I don’t think he stops moving at all in the day. He loves all sports but is naturally drawn to soccer. Challenger Sports British Soccer camp was right up his alley and was the highlight of his summer!
Challenger Sports British Soccer camp welcomes over 150,000 players every year into their camp! Their hand selected high level international coaches are amazing and really know how to push the kids to succeed and have tons of fun! Their curriculum helps players develop skills, speed, and abilities in players of all experience. This co-ed camp, has first time soccer players and kids like my son that have played for a few years.
Challenger Sports British Soccer camp has camps for all ages- each varying length and each age appropriate.
We are in the full day camp and it is fun yet intense. He came home sweating everyday but was eager and excited to learn more the next day! At this age, technical skill development is the key to being a strong player. The new 1,000 touch curriculum does just that- providing at least 1,000 points of contact with the soccer ball for every player in just a 3 hour camp! Here are some skills players will be working on:
- Soccer ABC – Players will improve their Agility, Balance and Coordination.
- Dribbling – improve the ability to change direction and move at speed.
- Moves – master more than 20 different ways to turn and fake opponents.
- Passing – improve accuracy, pace and 1st touch control.
- Shooting – improve power and placement with each foot.
- Heading – learn how to safely and confidently head the ball.
- Tackling/Defending – improve your tackling skills and learn how to defend.
- Freestyle – daily program of juggling, lifts and balances by John Farnworth.
Beyond all those skills and better understanding of soccer, kids will learn determination, respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and leadership!
