Things got real…..REAL SCARY that is! Remember when I said I was putting on my big girl panties and walking right onto Elm Street ? Last week, I faced my fears together with 10 other bloggers and tackled 9 haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights 25! They were both terrifying and utterly awesome all at the same time! I 100% could see why they received the Golden Ticket Award for BEST HALLOWEEN EVENT! I’m sure it had something to do with this guy……..
That there is Jack. I know everyone has this insane fear of clowns, but doesn’t he look sooo friendly 🙂 Just kidding……he was the worst part of Halloween Horror Nights for me. I kept waiting for him to chase me around with a chainsaw and his multi colored hair (Did you see my face on Instagram?). I just can’t even deal. Jack is the face of Halloween Horror Nights and this year they are celebrating 25 years of haunting! HHN runs from September 18th- Nov 1st, and does require a separate ticket from regular park admission.
From the moment you walk into Halloween Horror Nights your experience begins.
While you will find creepy people walking around everywhere, Halloween Horror Nights has 5 unique scare zones that brings those creepy, terrifying people front and center and in GREAT numbers! The scare zones include:
⊗ PSYCHOSCAREAPY – UNLEASHED: The criminally insane inmates of Shadybrook Asylum have escaped and stumbled upon a Halloween Block party in the streets of New York. They quickly decide they’d kill for some costumes of their own.
⊗ ICONS – HHN: The eeriest icons and most cadaverous characters of the last 25 years of Halloween Horror Nights® have returned. The Caretaker, The Storyteller, The Director, The Usher and more are back to relive every monstrous memory.
⊗ SCARY TALES – SCREAMPUNK: Classic fairytale characters get a sinister Scary Tale twist immersed in the wicked world of steam punk.
⊗ EVIL’S ROOTS: Your darkest fears will take root amidst the perilous paths of Central Park as you face evil fairies, humanoid bats, scarecrows and more horrors.
⊗ ALL NITE DIE-IN – DOUBLE FEATURE: The Carey Drive-In movie theater has been closed for decades after grisly murders during a double feature. It’s lights, camera, carnage as the theater nicknamed “Die-In” by the locals lives up to its name.
The Evil Root’s scare zone was hands down my absolute FAVORITE zone! From far away ,it is almost beautiful with the lanterns, pumpkins, and fog. To me, it truly captures Halloween…..reminds me of the old school kids Halloween films!
Inside is an entirely different story……this is the place where Jack-O-Lanterns, scarecrows, bats, and goblins are here to scare you! SPOILER ALERT: The walls come alive……..
Now, if you have survived the scare zones, built up a bit of courage, and feel like tackling a haunted house…….Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights has you covered with 9 houses to choose from! This is the most houses they have ever had~ and they definitely didn’t hold anything back!
Enter “The Further” and travel through all three parts of the Insidious saga. Denizens of the afterlife try to find their way back into the world using the living to guide them. The house isn’t haunted–we are.
In all honesty, I was most afraid of Insidious. Having never seen the movie, I had no idea what to expect but the fact that it involved children was more than I could handle. I would like to say I kept my eyes open the entire time but that would be a HUGE lie! Luckily, I survived and had the opportunity to see it with the lights on as well as in the dark! The details in this house are INCREDIBLE and make it that much better! Stay tuned for my Lights on Tour post coming this week!
From the cursed Camp Crystal Lake to the nightmarish 1428 Elm Street, awake or asleep, you’ll find yourself caught in the middle of this epic battle — where the winner’s reward is YOU.
THEATRICS HERE! Being an 80’s kid means I have seen these movie, so it was super cool to see these movies come alive and end in an EPIC battle! I didn’t see Freddy as my eyes were closed in that area………(closed now….is he there?)
This year’s Purge is more brutal than ever. From the moment you step inside the house, dozens of vicious vigilantes will descend upon you as they exercise their right to purge.
The premise of The Purge is that all violence and crime ceases throughout the year, so that once a year on March 21st………you can PURGE and commit any crime you want without any consequence. Revenge to your boss or even your wealthy neighbor…….it’s HIGHLY DISTURBING! We did a lights on tour of this house as well, and just let me say that I could barely make it through even without the scare actors and music. I will never step foot into a public restroom alone again. Just saying.
The Body Collectors have returned, descending upon Shadybrook Asylum to collect the human parts they require. Screams echo the hallways as a blizzard rages outside while sharpened blades swirl inside.
Look for the poor girl getting her spine ripped out. That’s if your looking at all- I didn’t.
You’ve just been selected as a contestant on RUN, a brutal TV show where everyday people are stalked by skilled assassins. Just remember: the more horrifying your death, the higher the ratings.
Relive the most terrifying moments of the past 25 years as Jack releases our catalogue of creatures in one maze. You’ll be attacked by Universal classic monsters, meat-grinding maniacs and the fiends of Horror Nights past.
We are back to Jack. As I mentioned before, Insidious was the most terrifying house to me PRIOR to arriving at #HHN25. After experiencing all 9 houses, THIS ONE IS THE WORST. And when I say the WORST, I mean as in most be SUPER awesome because I almost peed my pants. There is a room with 20 something Jack the clowns in it but you do not know where the real Jack is. I hyperventilated and nearly passed out.
Follow the white rabbit through the looking glass and into a murderous 3D Wonderland. Is this world all in Alice’s mind or are the images we see real enough to kill us?
From the burnt ashes of Terminus, through the flooded community food pantry basement, and into the darkened churchyard, hordes of walkers surround you as you relive gut-wrenching moments of the most recent season.
The most anticipated house of the year……delivers. RUN!
Step into John Landis’ landmark 1981 horror classic. From the attack on the English moors to the bone-crunching transformation, it’s one of the most popular houses in Halloween Horror Nights® history.
This was voted the most popular haunted house, and it is the only one to ever be repeated! We went behind scenes with the lights on tour, and these beasts up close are soooo incredibly designed!
Are you scared yet? I could barely get through the post without freaking out about my visit to Halloween Horror Nights 25! Take a walk on the scary side and grab your tickets to #HHN25 before it’s too late. Stay tuned this week for some behind the scenes pictures of Insidious, The Purge, and Jack London’s werewolf haunts!
